Starting in March, Bodegas Portia welcomes a new art exhibition following the closing of Ars fundum, on display since 2016. From the Sea to the Stars is an exhibition of works by the Granada-born sculptor, José Manuel Robles. The exhibition completes the tour of the iconic Ribera del Duero winery designed by Foster + Partners offering visitors an unforgettable experience.

From the Sea to the Stars is comprised of sculptures that offer a surrealistic, abstract vision of a changing and evolving universe composed of colourful organic forms. They are works that invite the spectator to travel while perceiving the surrounding beauty. As godson of Federico García Lorca’s sister, the author, José Manuel Robles, absorbs the artistic essence of the poet from its most intimate conception, forging a style of its own that opens a window to the aesthetic depth of the cosmos without losing its alignment with nature. The exhibition will be open to visitors the iconic Ribera del Duero winery, located less than two hours by car from Madrid. With this new proposal, arising from the conviction that art inspires art, Bodegas Portia goes one step further in offering a unique cultural experience for visitors, combining art, architecture, food and, of course, wine.

The winery, designed by the prestigious Foster + Partners studio, is a milestone in avant-garde architecture. It also hosts the exhibition From the Sea to the Stars. The experience continues with the tasting of its five renowned wines: Portia Verdejo, Portia Roble, Portia Crianza, Portia Prima and Triennia. Te proposal is completed with the Triennia Gastrobar, an opportunity to enjoy haute cuisine.

About José Manuel Robles

Granada-born Robles was related from childhood to art and creativity.r An industrial engineer by profession, the artist was subsequently trained at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios, where he acquired the technical skills of modelling and painting. His abstract sculptures are a journey through shapes and aesthetics, creating large-volume, three-dimensional pieces.

Each of his artworks reflects a cosmic nature, a synchrony between life, the sea, stars and colours. A harmonious universe and quantum evolution as a concept, embodied in abstract surrealism.
